Southern Manufacturing & Electronics show preview: Contract manufacturing makes a strong showin

Based in factories in Nottinghamshire and Hertfordshire, Fringe Electronics (C70) offers contract electronic manufacturing (CEM) services which include PCB assembly, full product (box build) assembly, testing, cable assemblies, procurement and metal fabrication.

Prototyping

Products have UL recognition for marking and labelling systems. An in‑house materials science group provides design and prototype support.

It works directly with clients and design centres on the development of high-perfomance coatings, adhesives and laminate materials for a range of end-use applications.

System assembly

Another European electronic manufacturing services (EMS) company, Cicor Romanian, is exhibiting at this year’s show (J90).

The member of the Swiss Group Cicor has been in Romania since 1996, providing PCB assembly, system assembly and box building, control cabinet construction and cable assembly.

It also offers outsourcing for development and manufacturing electronic component assemblies.

PCBs

Standard rigid PCB, flex, rigid-flex aluminium and HDI PCBs from prototypes to large volumes are supplied from Lithuanian company PCB Baltic (J70).

PCB design, test and build

Offering to bring customers’ R&D ideas to life, Smart Electronics is a UK-based EMS company (J85).

It specialises in the critical design, test and build of PCBs.

From single pieces to assembling thousands of PCBs, with multi-layers, flex and flex‑rigid PCBs, the company provides services from design to assembly, including free prototype, automated optical inspection (AOI) and component search.

The company is UL and ISO 9001-certified.

Design, procurement and manufacturing

Electronic design and manufacturing by Corintech (E135) encompasses design, procurement, manufacturing and quality assurance, from concept design to large-scale production.

It can undertake electro-mechanical assembly and box builds including customer’s own custom designed retail packaging.
